For this reason identifying the development condition of the water and wastewater sector is a necessity in the context of targeting plans and strategies from the aspect of sectorial management and senior management. This research was undertaken to identify the level of development of the water and wastewater companies (35 companies) from the aspect of the different indicators specific to the water and wastewater industry in the context of clarifying the economic plans and to enhance and improve operational activities. In the course of the study, after identifying 18 indicators, the exploratory factor analysis was undertaken and the number of indicators was reduced to 5 significant factors. Then the combined indicator was calculated according to the weight of factors and the entire sector was classified. In continuation and by applying the hierarchal clustering method the development levels of water and wastewater companies were categorized on the basis of 5 factors in three homogenized groups of development. The study's results indicate an unbalanced and non-homogenous level of development in the sector, with some companies failing to achieve the desirable level of development and needing greater attention and planning to improve the developmental conditions. صنعت آب و فاضلاب با توجه به شرایط محیطی حاکم بر آن، انتظارات ذی­نفعان و رسالت سازمانی که برعهده دارد و در راستای تأمین و توزیع آب و دفع بهداشتی فاضلاب، نیازمند رشد و توسعه­ متوازن با تغییرات شرایط محیطی است. از این‎رو شناسایی وضعیت توسعه­ای صنعت آب و فاضلاب یک الزام در راستای هدف­گذاری برنامه­ها و راهبردها محسوب می­شود. این پژوهش در راستای شناسایی میزان توسعه‏یافتگی شرکت­های آب و فاضلاب شهری (35 شرکت) از منظر مؤلفه­های گوناگون خاص صنعت آب و فاضلاب در راستای تبیین برنامه­ریزی­های اقتصادی برای ارتقا و بهبود فعالیت­های عملیاتی انجام شده است. در این پژوهش پس از استخراج 18 شاخص، با شیوه­ تحلیل عاملی اکتشافی شاخص­ها به 5 عامل معنی­دار تقلیل یافت. در ادامه، شاخص ترکیبی با توجه به بار عامل­ها محاسبه و رتبه­بندی مجموعه­ صنعت انجام شد. در ادامه با رویکرد شیوه­ خوشه­بندی سلسله مراتبی سطح توسعه‏یافتگی شرکت­های آب فاضلاب بر پایه­ 5 عامل در 3 گروه همگن از منظر سطح توسعه‏یافتگی گروه‎بندی شدند. نتایج پژوهش نشان می­دهد، میزان توسعه‏یافتگی صنعت متعادل و همگن نبوده، به‎طوری‎که برخی شرکت­ها از توسعه‏یافتگی مطلوبی برخوردار نیستند، به توجه بیش­تری نیاز دارند و برنامه­ریزی برای بهبود وضعیت توسعه­ای آن­ها ضروری است. https://www.jwwse.ir/article_119431_fa7a4eb582b6ccd0b17dc07056f508d3.pdf
